A Quick Beard Trimming Tip
One of the best beard trimming tips we have come across is to "use a towel while shaping and trimming your beard", says master barber Tony Aguilar from Pueblo, Colorado. It's easy for beginners and is something you can do yourself at home or with the help of a friend or spouse if your hands are too shaky... The contrast between the towel and your beard should allow you to see the hairs that need to be trimmed or shaped down.
If you have a white or lighter colored beard, then try using a black or dark colored towel instead. Don't forget to comb/brush your beard thoroughly before beginning the process.
Watch the short towel trim video below for a quick overview:
We always recommend trimming with scissors instead of electric clippers, especially on a longer beard. Just go slow and trim about 1/4 inch of hair off at a time to maintain your shape as it grows and to keep the stray or longer hairs in check. Using scissors to cut a little at a time also is a great way to prevent any major errors that you may regret and leaves you room for you to correct any mistakes.

The towel trick is a good idea. I’ve always been one to use scissors instead of a trimmer for my beard.
