Natural Ingredients for Common Skin Conditions

by Vintage Grooming™ November 17, 2017

Many skin conditions are characterized by inflammation and redness. Some are accompanied by bumps that are sore and can cause further irritation. Below are some details about common skin issues and many of the plant based ingredients we use at Vintage Grooming that can be known to help alleviate some of these following preexisting skin issues:

Common Skin Conditions

Eczema is an itchy inflammation of the skin, usually characterized by red rashes on the skin.

Rosacea is characterized by red inflammation and bumps on the skin.

Psoriasis is a condition where skin cells build up and cause itchy dry patches on skin.

Acne is commonly recognized as skin inflammation and bumps.

Ingredients & Benefits

Coconut oil is a naturally antibacterial and antifungal oil, and is an excellent skin conditioner. Coconut oil can be found in our Night Owl Beard Balm and our Hair and Body Balm, and can aid in soothing eczema, rosacea and psoriasis.

Jojoba oil, which can be found in all of our beard oils, is naturally antibacterial and anti inflammatory, and can aid in all of the above. It also contains Vitamin E, and the composition of jojoba oil mimics the properties of our skin’s naturally produced oils.

Apricot oil is an oil full of fatty acids that help fill in the gaps between skin cells to hydrate skin. Apricot oil can be found in all of our oil based products, and is also applicable to all of the skin conditions mentioned above.

Grapeseed oil is a non-comedogenic oil, meaning that it doesn’t clog pores. It is also naturally anti inflammatory, high in vitamin E content, and high in fatty acids and antioxidants. It is most commonly used to combat acne, but is just as versatile as the other oils listed here.

Castor oil is a naturally antibacterial oil with the perks of promoting collagen and elastin production in the skin as well.

Shea Butter is an anti inflammatory, is high in vitamin A, and boosts collagen production.

The above ingredients are not cures by any means, so always spot test on a small area of the skin before applying a large amount, as you may be allergic to an oil or plant base we use. If you are allergic to bees, honey, wool or other things then please check the full list of ingredients on any product before applying it to the body.
